CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police have identified the victim of Friday’s shooting at Needmore Court as Adam Marquez, 19.

Marquez was shot in the chest shortly before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon when an altercation escalated into gunfire, according to CPD Sgt. Charles Gill.

Three suspects – Joshua Aretz, 20, Clinton Hunter III, 18 and a 17 year-old juvenile – have been charged with criminal homicide in the case.

The adult suspects are being held at the Montgomery County Jail and the juvenile is being held at the Columbia Juvenile Detention Center.

Leaf-Chronicle reporter Tavia Green reported Friday that a neighbor near the scene who didn't want to be named said she heard several gunshots and came outside to find Marquez lying on the ground. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Green, a grieving woman walking near the scene was pacing and crying. "They killed him for no reason!"
