Woman arrested in 2015 slaying of Melissa Napier

A Clarksville woman has been charged with murder in the death of a woman whose body was found in December 2015 in Palmyra.

Jade Amanda Rose Breeden, 39, has been charged in the death of Melissa Woodruff Napier, according to a news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Napier, originally from New York, was an Army veteran. She served 4 1/2 years, rose to the rank of sergeant and completed two tours in Iraq working as a chemical operations specialist.

Napier was reported missing on Dec. 8, 2015, by her brother. Her body was found by a hunter on Dec. 10, 2015, in the 3000 block of Tarsus Road in Palmyra, the release said.

Napier was 30 at the time of her death. She leaves behind a young son.

Breeden was booked into Montgomery County Jail on $500,000 bond.
