Clarksville child, 4, shot, killed

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn – . A 4-year-old child died Sunday night after Clarksville Police found him with a gun shot wound to the chest, according to a news release sent by Natalie Hall late Sunday night.

Hall said the preliminary investigation shows the child gained access to a loaded handgun and accidentally shot himself.

Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Arthurs Court on Sunday evening in response to a reported gun shot wound. When they arrived they discovered the child suffering from a gun shot wound to the chest. The child was transported via Life Flight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
