CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Fort Campbell soldier was charged Sunday after he allegedly was sexually aggressive toward a woman.

Stephen Michael Griffin, 20, who gave a Fort Campbell, Ky., address, was booked into Montgomery County Jail on a charge of sexual battery. His bond was set at $10,000.

According to a warrant, police went to an apartment in the 1600 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard just after 9 p.m. on Saturday and they spoke with the victim, who said Griffin tried to kiss her then he reached into her shirt and grabbed her breasts.

The woman told officers that when she told him to stop, Griffin asked her to perform a sex act with him, the warrant said.

Officers spoke with the victim’s husband, who said he did not see anything but Griffin told him what happened.

Griffin declined to speak with police but surrendered at Gate 3 of Fort Campbell just after 11 p.m. on Saturday.
