Arrest made in deadly nightclub shooting
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A shooting in a nightclub parking lot left one person dead and two injured Friday night, and by Saturday evening, Clarksville Police had a suspect in custody.
Just before midnight, police officers were working at a site nearby when they heard gunfire, said Lt. Steve Warren.
"In this case, we didn't require civilian notification. A couple of officers heard the shots and were able to mark the exact time, 11:53 p.m., and we had the first unit on the scene at 11:55 p.m."
They found one person dead and two others injured in the parking lot of The Lodge on Mr. C Drive, near Governors Square Mall.
Terence D. Harwell, 25, died at the scene, Warren said.
The two injured victims were Kody McKinley, 21, and Raefeal Roundtree, 22. Roundtree was transported by Lifeflight.
Several vehicles in the parking lot were struck by bullets.
Numerous people were interviewed by police, and a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Cornell Hurley, 25, of Clarksville.
Hurley, who gave a 2020 Lintwood Drive, Apt. B address, was charged with criminal homicide and booked into Montgomery County Jail without bond. Additional charges are expected, Warren said.
This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Eric Ewing, 931-648-0656, ext. 5447, or the TIPS line at 931-645-TIPS.
